GreenDroid Automated Diagnosis of Energy Inefficiency for Smartphone Applications

    Abstract

Smartphone Application is most commonly used by the people all over the world. Android Application such as Google Maps, Google Play Store etc., consumes large amount of energy. Energy inefficiency problems mostly occurred in Android mobile phones. Locating energy problems in Android applications is difficult. This can be overcome by developing Greendroid. It is an automatic detection of energy inefficiency for smartphone Application that was implemented in this project. Greendroid is built on the top of JPF (Java Path Finder). The JPF is used to detect the missing deactivation of sensors & wake locks. JPF is also used for tracking the sensory data. Using Greendroid the manual operations such as Data Mode, Internet Mode and Bluetooth on/off is designed as Automatic with in single click. Thus it is not complex to the user. Greendroid is flexible for the user operation. And also the manual error is overcome by using this technology. Auto on/off helps the user to save the energy of smartphone Application. Thus Greendroid is used to successfully overcome the energy problems in smartphone.

    Existing System

In existing system the smartphone users commonly complain about the effects of energy leaks. Energy leaks are in general difficult to detect and isolate there are two main reasons: Some Application wasting lot of energy such as Google Map, Google Pay Store and its performance poor applications design. And the second reason hardware misuse could easily lead to unexpectedly large energy waste. In existing method locating energy problems in Android applications is difficult.

    Proposed System

In the proposed method the Greendroid automatic detection of energy inefficiency for smartphone Greendroid is built on the top of JPF (Java Path Finder) The JPF is used to detect the missing deactivation of sensors & wake locks. Release wake locks could quickly deplete a fully charged phone battery. JPF is also used for tracking the sensory data. Using Greendroid the manual operations such as Data Mode, Internet Mode and Bluetooth on/off, GPS mode, Brightness setup, Ringtone default settings changes is designed as Automatic with in single click. Auto on/off helps the user to save the energy of smartphone Application Greendroid is flexible for the user operation. In proposed method it detecting and isolating energy leaks in network communication for mobile applications.
