Bidirectional Visitor Counter

Abstract

Nowadays, the count for the visitors become essential in many cases like in shopping mall, Hotels, restaurants etc. where the count is required to make a satisfaction of the administrators who depend on electronics system for the count of the incoming or outgoing visitors or traffics. So in this project, bidirectional visitor counter using PIC microcontroller is developed. The main intention is to design a system where the number of persons entering and leaving a room is displayed on a screen. When person enters the room, count would be increased whereas on leaving, the count would be decrease. IR sensing mechanism is used to sense the presence of visitors. The whole counting operation is done by microcontroller PIC16F73.
