Computer Controlled Crane

Abstract

This project is developed for the users to control a crane through computer. The user can control all the movements like forward, reverse, left and right. When the user presses a specific button of the computer a digital signal is generated and sent to the microcontroller through serial port. The microcontroller controls the operation of crane through external electronic circuit like drivers and relays. The relay is used as a switch to operate the particular motor in the crane. By this way the user can control any operation of the crane. The design and port programs are written in C language. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language. The computer controlled crane can be used in mines and areas where human cannot enter.
