Electrical Power Generation using Railway Track

    Abstract

In this project up/down mechanical assembly is placed below the railway track as power generator. When trains are going on the track the mechanical assembly is moving up and down. It is attached the permanent magnet D.C generator. So the generator generates the D.C power. The D.C power is change depends upon the moment of the mechanical unit. So the variable voltage is regulating by the regulator. Then it charges the battery through charger. The D.C source is give to the inverter. The load is connected across the inverter. While the train goes on the tracks power generation assembly, the spring will be gone up and down at the same time the rack and pinion arrangement also moves along the spring. According to the rack movement the rotor of permanent magnet generator rotates and it helps to produce power. Meanwhile, the DC generator generates the amount of power depends upon the pinion rotation speed which can be accessed by spring movement.
