Solar Panel Direction Control Using Mems Accelerometer

    Abstract

This project is developed for the users to use portable solar emergency charger. It consists of two modules. 1. Solar panel 2. Inverting section 3. Mems accelerometer 4. Actuator The solar panel converts solar power into electric power. The electric power is stored in a 12V battery. The solar panel direction changed by light condition. The photo sensors are connected in microcontroller, it produces voltage depends on light, processor sense the light condition through ADC display the position information and also moves the panel to maximum lighted position by using actuator. The mems accelerometer is indicating to which position of panel current time. The controlling unit get the position information from accelerometer and adjust the current position of panel by feedback technic. The inverting section consists of an oscillator and driver section. The oscillator generates pulsated DC with particular frequency. A power transistor drives a transformer and the step up transformer steps up 12V AC into desired AC. In the output socket, a 40 W tube light can be connected. There are two modes of operation called Normal and Auto. In the normal mode, the user has to on and off the tube light when necessary. In the auto mode, the tube light can be operated automatically according to the light in the room. This project is cost effective and portable.
