Talking Energy Meter Alert User with Voice Messages Case of Over Power Utilization

    Abstract

The deployment of electronic energy meters has gained a great deal of momentum over the past several years. This is due to their two main advantages over the traditional electromechanical designs: improved accuracy and an expanded set of features. In this project developed a talking energy meter alert the user with the voice messages case of over power utilization. The current sensor is used for measuring current flows through the load. The output of the current sensor is given to the microcontroller. If the current sensor measured value exceeds the particular limit, then the microcontroller generates the control. Then the microcontroller generated control signal is sent to the PC through USART. USART facilitates communication through a computers serial port using the RS232 protocol. The speaker is announcing the voice alert through a PC. LCD display displays the current sensor value.
