Windmill Power Plant Distributed Control System

    Abstract

This project is developed for the users to control the direction of the wind mill according to the direction of air automatically. It consists of three modules called Air direction sensor, Microcontroller unit and Motor controlling unit. There are four air direction sensors connected at the four sides of the wind mill. The four sensors sense the direction of air flow and sends to the input port of the microcontroller. The microcontroller analyses the signal and accordingly it controls a DC motor through driver section. The Head of the wind mill is connected with the DC motor. The microcontroller is programmed such a way that according to the direction of the air, the head should be turned. So the wind mill will turn according to the direction of the wind. According to the velocity of the wind, the vanes are rotated. The shafts of the vanes are connected with a Generator. The generator produces electric power. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language.
