    Automatic Railway Gate Control System With High Speed Indication


    Abstract

    This project is developed for the purpose of controlling the railway gate automatically and to indicate the high speed. The main modules in this project are IR sensor, Microcontroller unit, Driver unit, GSM and gate motor. IR sensors are connected near the railway track. One sensor (sensor 1) is placed before the road crossing. And the other (sensor 2) is placed after the road crossing. When the train enters into the region where sensor 1 is placed, the microcontroller generates control signal to close the railway gate. When the train leaves the sensor 2 region the microcontroller generates control signal to open the railway gate. The microcontroller operates the gate motor through relay and driver section. And also the speed of the train can be calculated by using the distance between the 2 sensors and the time that the train needs to cross both the sensors. Speed= Distance/Time. If the speed of the train is greater than the normal limit, the message will be sent to the authorized person with the help of GSM. The Microcontroller programs are written in assembly language. Automatic railway gate controller will be very useful in real time railway crossings and also it prevents the accident.
