An Adaptive Bridge Crack Detection Method

    Abstract

Industrial robots are beginning now to revolutionize industry. Robots are particularly useful in a wide variety of application such as material handling, welding, painting, inspection and assembly. In our project robots are used for the purpose of inspection. One of the important tasks for bridge maintenance is bridge crack inspection. In this project, a crack inspection system that uses a camera-equipped mobile robot to collect images on the bridge is introduced. The photo which is taken by the camera is transmitted to the PC with the use of RF module. Segmentation process is accomplished in PC. The result is transmitted to microcontroller through ZIGBEE module. Micro controller generates the control signal which controls the robotic motor.
