    IOT Based Agriculture Field Monitoring System


    Abstract

    Modernization of the farming process is one of the crucial steps for a country like India, which has to import tremendous amount of grains and agro products from other countries to meet the demand. Various architectural and technological improvements have been suggested in the past and have been widely adopted over the years to improve the productivity of the agricultural field. One of the major challenges of the agriculture is the proper monitoring of the soil health, the environment, and adjusting the irrigation. This project is an excellent solution for such kind of problems. One of the advantages of this project is that the solar power is utilized to provide power for microcontroller and pump motor. Solar panel is regulated with the help of MPPT controller. Electrical energy from solar panel is stored in the battery through MPPT controller. This electrical energy is used to give power supply to the motor and microcontroller. Soil moisture sensor and light sensor is used to measure the moisture content in the soil and sunlight in that particular environment respectively. These sensor values will be sent to the Lora transmitter. LoRa transmitter sends the signal to the LoRa receiver. LoRa receiver sends the sensor values to internet. Thus one can monitor the condition of the agriculture field from anywhere through internet. With the help of LoRa transmitter and receiver all sensor values will be stored in the internet. Thus there is no need to connect each sensor to the internet separately. If the moisture content is low, there is a need to pump the water in the field. Thus the control signal can be given to the pump motor through internet. The control signal decides the ON/OFF condition of the water pump motor. Thus the motor can be operated remotely which reduces manpower and increase the efficiency.
