    Silent Drive System


    Abstract

    Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel that is currently developed by Google. In this project android based accident prevention system is introduced. Accidents are one of the leading causes of fatalities around the world. In this project GPS is utilized to track the speed of a person. Speed of a person is calculated using the GPS data. Speed of a person is compared with a threshold speed value to identify whether the person is driving a vehicle or not. If the speed exceeds the threshold limit then mobile profile mode will change to silent. If anybody calls him/her, then the call will be disconnected and the message will be sent to the person who tries to contact a person. The message will be in the following format: “The person you want to contact is in driving. So please make a call after sometime. If it is urgent please make a call 3 times.” If the person called more than 3 times the phone profile mode will be changed from silent to normal mode. And the microcontroller generates the control signal according to the speed and call count input. Control signal generated by the microcontroller is used to control the motor.
