Telephone Based Audio Muting And Lights On System

    Abstract

This project is developed for the users to control the audio and light system automatically at the time of telephone call. The main modules in this project are Telephone line to DC converter, Driver, Power supply and Relay section. At the time of telephone call, the voltage across the telephone lines is around 50V. The telephone signal is first converted to DC signal by means of a converter circuit. The converted signal is given to the Microcontroller. The microcontroller analyses the signal and accordingly it sends signal to the Relay section through driver section. The relays act as electromagnetic switch. The two relays work simultaneously but reverse manner. When the N/O of one relay is connected with the center terminal, the N/O of the other relay is disconnected with the center terminal. Thus when telephone call comes, the first relay mutes the TV and the same time the second relay switches on the light controls. The same way, when the user places the hand set on the hook button, the TV will be on and the lights will be switched off. Thus the audio and light system are controlled automatically according to the telephone operation.
