Real Time Patient Monitoring System Using CAN Controller

    Abstract

This project is developed for the Doctors to test the patients temperature, heart beat and trip status automatically and if anything strange, to inform the doctor and also stores the status in a PC. The main part of the Unit is Microcontroller, Temperature sensor, Heart beat sensor and flow sensor. The three sensors sense the occurrences continuously. If the value is below or above a certain range, it sends signal to the Microcontroller unit. The micro controller immediately sends signal to the PC through serial port. The software in the PC receives the signal and accordingly displays the status of the sensors and if any thing strange, it tells the doctor about the change. If the doctor is not available at the particular time, the details are stored in the PC and he can analyze it when ever necessary. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language and the port programs are written in Visual Basic. The microcontroller used is PIC 16F73.
