Fluid Level Controller With Dry Run & Over Voltage Protection

    Abstract

In boilers, the temperature may be sometimes very high. Also the water level will be low so that it causes many problems. To avoid this, we use a safety control for power plant units. It consists of three parts. Temperature sensor, level sensor, voltage sensor and Micro Controller. The temperature sensor and level sensor are connected at the boiler. The temperature sensor senses the temperature and sends signal to the microcontroller unit. Also the level sensor senses the fluid level of the boiler and sends signal to the microcontroller. The microcontroller analyses the signals and if the temperature exceeds a particular limit, it operates a blower. If the fluid level goes low, the microcontroller operates the pump motor and also if the plant power exceeds voltage sensor senses voltage level to microcontroller, then microcontroller stops the boiler operation. Thus this project prevents the boiler from unnecessary burning. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language, and the microcontroller used is PIC16F73.
