    Design Of Embedded System For Automated Road Surveillance System For Speed Voilation Detection


    Abstract

    Automated road surveillance system is used to monitor the speed violation of the vehicles. A traffic enforcement camera also called as road safety camera is an automated ticketing machine. It includes a camera which may be mounted beside or over a road or installed in an enforcement vehicle to detect traffic regulation violations, including speeding, vehicles going through a red traffic light. Our Embedded project is to design and develop a low cost feature which is based on embedded platform for finding the speed of the vehicles. Specifically, our Embedded System includes a webcam which is capable to capture the position of the vehicles. If the speed of the vehicle is more than the predefined speed, then the vehicle information can be monitored on remote PC through Ethernet. Our Embedded System uses ARM 32-bit micro controller, the webcam is connected to the controller through USB device. The controller has a feature of image processing technique. Image processing is any form of signal processing for which the input is an image, such as a photograph or video frame; the output of image processing may be either an image or a set of characteristics or parameters related to the image.
