Outpatient Health Monitoring Using Wireless Adhoc Network

    Abstract

Tracking the health status of an outpatient is very difficult. This project proposes a system architecture for smart healthcare based on an advanced wireless sensor network. This project is developed for the users to sense the Temperature, Trip &Heart beat of the patient and to forecast it in online manner. The main part of the Unit is Microcontroller, Heart beat sensor, Temperature sensor, blood pressure sensor and Bluetooth module. The Temperature sensor, blood pressure sensor & the heart beat sensor are connected with the patient’s body. The sensors send signal to the Microcontroller unit through driver section. The micro controller immediately sends corresponding signal to the Bluetooth transmitter. The Cellphone(Patient’s) receives the Bluetooth signal and sends to the Internet through GPRS. The Doctor can view the status of the patient through his mobile in online manner using GPRS. He can also give prescription in online manner through GPRS. The microcontroller used is PIC 16F877A. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language.
