    Decoding Infra Red Remote Control

    Abstract

Now-a-days Electronics has a vital role in the day today life due to the recent development. The revolution in the field of electronics is brought out by the introduction of transistor, which replaced the large noisy vacuum tubes. Later the integrated circuits acquired the dominant role in the field of electronics. The IC in a single functional block, which can contain a large number of devices like resistors, capacitors, Transistors etc and having a size of some few millimeters. The remote control system works by the use of infrared signals. The transmitter section of the system produces and transmits infrared signals through IR LED. These signals are received in the receiver section that is placed in the receiver circuit of the device through IR sensor. The received signal is given to the microcontroller. The microcontroller decodes the received signal and accordingly it sends signal to the particular relay through driver section. The relay switches on the particular device. The microcontroller used is PIC 16F73. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language.
