    Abstract

This project is developed for the users to identify underground electric line fault without cutting or crimping the line. The main part of the circuit is a magnetic sensor, LCD display and microcontroller. When the magnetic sensor is kept near the wire, it senses the continuity of the wire. If there is any cut in the wire, the microcontroller sensor sends signal to the microcontroller. The microcontroller is programmed to analyze the signal. Thus the microcontroller analyses the signal and sends signal to the LCD display through LCD driver accordingly. Thus the user can check the continuity without cutting or crimping the wire. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language. The microcontroller used is PIC 16F73.
