    AIR DISC BRAKING SYSTEM

    Abstract

The Braking system consists of a pneumatic cylinder, Ball valves, Air foot pump, Nylon hose plastic tube, tube fittings, flow control valve and Disc brake. It consists of air tank, valves, air gauge, brake assembly, cylinder and piston etc. The air foot pump is connected to the inlet of the air tank. The two outlets of the air tank is connected to the pneumatic cylinder through the nylon hose and valve. There is a flow control valve to control the air pressure when applied the brake. The cylinder and piston assembly is connected with the air tank through the flow control valve. The whole assembly is mounted on a stand for its stability. When brake is applied, the valve is opened and due to the air pressure, the piston moves forward. Thus the disc brake is applied. When the brake lever is released, due to the restoring action of the spring, the piston is moved backwards. Thus the brake is loosed. This operation will be completed within a few seconds.
