    TILTING VICE/ANGLE VICE

    Abstract

Vice is a mechanical setup to hold an object to allow work to be performed on it. Vice has two jaws one fixed and the other movable threaded in and out by a screw and lever. An Engineer’s vice is bolted on the top of a work bench with the face of the fixed jaws just forward of its front edge. The vice may include other features such as a small anvil on the back of its body. Most of the Engineer’s vice have a swivel base. An Angle vice also known as tilting vice is a machine vice that can tilt to set a clamped work piece up at an angle for machining. To set the correct angle, pin holes are mounted with the vertical bar.
