PIN entry system is a common method that is used in various sectors to secure the authentication. Security attacks may possible in this mechanism. The attacks such as Shoulder surfing attack and Camera based tracing attack is commonly happened in the PIN entry scheme. This can be overcome by the propose model namely Color Based PIN entry method. The concept is implemented in banking sector for secure transmission. The PIN entry concept is modified with the color PIN entry model. Normal PIN layout is constructed with two buttons such as Black and White Button. A PIN number with their required color is provided to the User for future transactions. When the user wants to do money transactions or other policies checking the proposed model is PIN entry is used. Here the user wants to give the correct color for the PIN. Then only the information will be viewed to the data consumer. Thus proposed framework is highly secured model and overcome PIN exposing attack. After the correct verification of PIN entry normal bank transaction is performed as such as money transaction, withdrawal, and account checking etc. The PIN entry scheme is specified with round scheme i. e each PIN entry scheme is associated with the four rounds. Thus the system stuck and latency (delay) problem is overcome in the proposed system.
A personal identification number (pin) is a widely used numeric password. The 4-digit pin numeric password is being used as authentication in many important applications such as, an ATM. An ATM is a place where the shoulder surfing attack is of great concern. There are some existing methods that provide security to the pin entry. But, those methods use only limited cognitive capabilities of the human adversary. The major disadvantage that exists here is that human adversaries can be more effective at eavesdropping and assumptions by training themselves.
The proposed method called improved black white (BW) method can be more secure, as it uses bi-colored keys. Another contribution is the authentication service that uses local databases and a hash function. The hash function is mainly used to send the pin securely to the server through the public channel. An ATM application is created as an application, where transactions can be performed using a virtual money concept. The advanced method of the basic black and white method, which is the improved method, is proposed by extending black and white method. In this, the proposed algorithm uses randomly generated four digits in which each digit block, is combined with the combination of two, to prevent the intentional shoulder surfing attack by extracting the PIN digit after all the user iterations got completed.
