This project is developed for Smart Meter System. Smart Meter system enables the user to know the cost for the usage through ZIGBEE Technology and also enable the users to receive any important information from the EB. Through this system, EB administrator can view the electricity usage of different users. It can reduce the manual work. It consists of two modules called User and Administrator. User module consists of current and voltage sensing unit, Microcontroller, ZIGBEE transmitter, LCD display. Current and voltage sensing unit senses the electricity usage and this reading is sent to the EB administrator through ZIGBEE transmitter. The administrator unit consists of a Zigbee unit, microcontroller unit and a PC. The administrator can send and receive any information through the Zigbee kit. The message sent by the administrator is received by the user device and displayed in the LCD display. The microcontroller used in this project is PIC16F73. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language. The assembly language is edited in the MPLab environment. The microcontroller program is written in the Micro controller using PIC Write software.
