Camera Based Intruder Alert System

Abstract

Security has becoming an important issue everywhere because of the possibilities of intrusion is increasing day by day. In order to assist blind people, this project presents visually impaired assistive system which focuses the security of blind people. In this project camera is placed outside the home. Camera is interconnected to the CPU through interface. Whenever the person appears in front of the door, camera captures the activity of that person. From that video image of a person is retrieved for further purposes. Features are extracted from the image to identify the person. After extracting features, they are given as input to the classifier. Classifier compares the input image features with the features of images which are stored in the data base. The identification of the person is announced through speaker if it matched with any one of the images in the data base. Otherwise a warning message will be sent to the desired number to take necessary actions.
