Smart Indoor Location System

Abstract

Smart indoor location system is used to overcome the time complexity of the parents or visitors who is searching a particular staff in schools/colleges. In the existing model there is no valid methodology for searching a particular staff in schools/colleges. Thus the visitors need to wait for a while to communicate with the particular staff. This leads to time complexity problem (i.e., the waiting time of the visitors/parents). This problem can be overcome by the smart indoor location system. In the proposed system a web page is designed to fetch the current location of the staffs, who are in the classroom or department or lab. First the Staffs needs to register in the webpage using their unique user ID and password. After registering the staff details are stored in the database. Before going to the classroom or laboratory or department, the staff needs to update the location details. The staff needs to update the location details in the webpage or in the app itself. If a visitor/parent needs to see a particular staff, they directly go to the reception and says the staff name and department detail they wish to see. The receptionist enters the particular staff name and department name in the smart indoor location system webpage. After entering the details, the receptionist needs to press the search button. Once the search button is pressed an alert message will be sent to the particular staffs mobile. It will provide the current location details of the particular staff along with the college map. This mechanism reduces the manual work and overcome the waiting time.

Existing System

In existing method there is no automatic mechanism to find the current location of the staff inside the college campus. If a visitor or parent needs to see a staff, the visitor goes to the reception and says the staff name and department detail they wish to see. The receptionist will guide them to the department. If the visitor or parent didnt find the staff in the department, the visitor or parent needs to wait for a long time to see the staff.

Proposed System

The smart indoor location is a web page application which is modelled to localize the staff location. The staff register their details in the webpage or in the app itself using their user ID and password. The staff details are stored in the database. The staff update their location details , before going to the particular location. When a visitor/parent needs to see a particular staff, the receptionist will enter the particular staff name and department name in the webpage. After entering the staff details search button is pressed. Once the search button is pressed, an alert message is sent to the particular staff. Then the query is searched into the data base where the staff informations are stored. The particular staff location along with the college map is provided to the visitor or parent.
