Bus Information System

Abstract

A Bus Information System is a system to manage the information of the bus including its timing and routes. A bus is a road vehicle designed to carry many passengers. Buses will have a capacity as high as 300 passengers. The most common type of the bus is the single deck rigid bus, with larger loads carried by double decker and articulated bus, smaller loads carried by minibuses and coaches are used for longer distance service. Buses may be used for scheduled bus transport, scheduled coach transport, school transport, private hire or tourism, promotional buses are used for political campaigns. The admin login into the account using the username and the password. In add bus menu, the details of the bus such as the bus name, bus number, bus type, travel station, total coaches, travel time, source station, destination station etc., are updated. In the bus report, the details of the bus which was already stored in the database are viewed by the admin. The admin can edit or delete the details of the bus. The admin can search the specific bus details by entering the name of the bus. It provide an efficient way to obtain the details of the bus in the online.

Existing System

In the existing system bus passengers frequently need to know about their ticket reservation status, ticket viability status on particular bus for particular destination, bus arrival and departure timing, halts and route of bus etc. Customer information centres at the bus stations are unable to serve such quires at peak periods. Also as for now there are no customer call centres facilities are available. Ticket booking in rural areas is much more difficult as people living there have to come all the way to the city where mostly reservation office and Bookings as well as Payments are done.

Proposed System

In the proposed system, Admin login into the website using the username and the password. Admin add the bus details in the website. It include the details such as bus name, bus number, bus type, detailed description about the bus etc. Then the report was generated for the bus which include the already stored details about the bus. Admin can view and edit the details about the bus information system.
