Abstract

Book store app has eased the life of so many book lovers by making it easy for them to purchase or borrow books online. It is not always feasible to access a traditional bookstore, it is limited by its operation time, availability of a particular book, its location and most importantly its capacity and the space required to store numerous books. Such drawbacks have led to the evolution of e-commerce industries related to bookstores. Our project is one such simple e-commerce website which houses various books of different categories for a consumer to purchase online. Book store app is an e-commerce platform, and it is an Android project. It allows the user to select and buy or rent the book from this book app store. This app provides wide range of book products to their customers. The customer can select any type of book they want to buy or borrow. Also, they can schedule their shipping details by providing the proper shipping details.

Existing System

In the existing system all the process are done in a manual way. To buy or to rent a book, the user needs to go to the book centre or library in a manual way to purchase the book or to borrow the book. If the needed book is not available in one shop, then the user needs to go to another shop in search of the book. In the existing system, there is no security for data base because all the books information is keep in records and that work is also done by man by using man power so there is chance of doing mistakes.

Proposed System

Online bookstore provides a platform where all the books are kept in an arranged way and user can choose their required book by just selecting it from the store. After selecting book and view all the description such as name of book, name of author and price, user can make payment of it in order to get it. In the proposed system, all the process related to book store are managed in a computerized way. Book store app includes admin and user. Admin have the full control over all the books in the book store. All the books are stored into the database by the admin. The admin can make changes in the added books in the app. To make use of this app, the user needs to register their details in the app and need to create a login credentials. This app allows user to search for different books of different categories which are available for purchase and for rental. Through this project user can view any book very easily online. The user can purchase online books by selecting the needed book and adding them to the cart. If the user wishes to borrow the book then based on the number of days for rental, the rental amount will be displayed to the user.
