Online Voting System

Abstract

This project titled “Online Voting System” is used to administrator all the activities in the Election process. The main modules in this project are Voters list, candidates list, Election process and Reports. The voter’s list consists of voter’s particulars. The user can add, edit and delete the voter’s details. The candidate’s list module consists of the candidate details and their symbols. The administrator can add, edit and delete the candidate list. One week before the voting period the admin is used to send the user name password to the voters. The election process module consists of election transaction. It includes Voting, verification, counting etc. In the report module, the user can take reports of voters list, candidate list, and election process. This project provides high security and reliability to the voting process. While the voting process the user wants to login the page. At that time user want to give the user name and password with verification code that is send to the user mobile. By using that code user want to login first. If the verification code entered by the user is wrong means user can retry for 3 times. If three times the user code is incorrect means the login window will be disclose automatically. Correct means the user is allowed for voting process.

Existing System

Voting is the actual process of casting ballots. An eligible voter goes to the polling station where his name is registered and shows his voter identification card to the polling official for inspection. Based on the unique) voter registration number on the card, the official looks up the name of the voter. When it is ensured that no vote has been cast by that voter, he is issued a ballot paper and his left thumb marked with indelible ink as having cast his vote. In an enclosed space, he selects a candidate of choice on the given ballot paper and thumbprints in a space allotted for that candidate. The voter then carefully folds the ballot paper (to avoid the fingerprint soiling other parts of it) and deposits it into the ballot box provided. He is then expected to leave the polling center.

Proposed System

Online Voting System is a Direct Recording Electronic Voting System which provides a platform for simplifying the electoral process for all institutions that employ voting in decision-making. It has several security requirements like access control, as well as user authentication incorporated into its design structure, making it not only secure and reliable, but also resilient. It also provides for user-friendly graphical interfaces and tools which make voting easy and enjoyable, because it equipped with security measures that range from the application design to implementation, management and monitoring.
