Voice Recognition

Abstract

This project deals with system operations using voice recognition. The user can open; close any applications like notepad, MS word, paint etc. through voice commands. The user has to first train the software with some standard words to recognize his own voice. The software will understand the user’s voice and commands. During execution, the user can do the operations using pre defined voice commands like ‘open notepad’, ‘open word’, ‘shutdown’, log off’ etc. If any un authorized persons try to execute, the software does not respond. This project is secure so that unauthorized users cannot do any operations using their voice commands.

Existing System

In the existing system conventionally users use mouse and keyboard as the main mediums of interaction with computer. Mouse and keyboard are easy to use and very reliable. However they do have some problems as described below. Inconvenience: user’s hands are tied-up with either keyboard or mouse when using a computer. There might be times when another mode of input may be deemed necessary. Computer interaction for the disabled: the special group of disabled users may need to have special keyboard or input devices to interact with the computer. These devices are often quite expensive and impaired users need kind of training to use them. And the user need the shutdown the system using the keyboard and mouse. The existing system not support for people who are difficulties to using keyboard and mouse. Security are not access in existing method the unauthorized easily shutdown the system.

Proposed System

This proposed method an attempt to create an application that allow user to command computer by speaking to it. With proper training for the system, it will be able to recognize all the trained command and execute the corresponding actions. For instance user can say ‘Open browser’ and other action the application will “trigger” it convert the voice into text and follow the commands in current directory. Voice Recognition for commands and control is not difficult to implement because most of the commands are short and simple. This implies that the recognition quality is highly acceptable. The unauthorized person cannot access the Pc. It is very simple and easily accessible method.
