University Admission Processing Tool

Abstract

The project entitled “UNIVERSITY ADDMISSION PROCESSING TOOL” deals with the online application counseling system. The counseling will be held at the Examination Centre. Individual communications are sent to candidates calling them to appear for counseling. Candidates will be called for counseling in the order of their merit. Based on the merit and communal reservation, allotment to the branch/college chosen by the candidate will be made. Candidates have to opt for colleges and branches that are available at the time of counseling. Eligible candidates who have applied and whose total marks are as specified or above, may appear for counseling along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of the receipt of individual communication. If the ranking of candidate gets altered due to revaluation of mark, Candidate can attend counseling as per the new mark and rank, though the call letter specifies different date (as per original mark). If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an institution where the candidate has already been admitted, a letter from the Head of the institution should be produced to that effect.

Existing System

Before developing any computerized system it is important to examine the problems in the existing system and the additional information that should be fulfilled in the proposed system. It is a time consuming process. In the existing system all the transaction will take place manually. People have to wait for long time. The details of candidates were not maintained in the database.

Proposed System

The proposed system should eliminate all the drawbacks of the existing system and should have the facilities as per the requirements of the user. This system is designed in such a way to meet the requirements with the maximum flexibility. It overcomes the difficulties faced in the existing system and to make the system user friendly, we move towards the automated system to develop our system. The detail section will have the details about the student, staffs and the departments. The student details will have the total count of students present in the college. The staff details include the number of staffs working in the University. The department section will give the information about the names of departments, the university have. The facility section will give information about various facilities present in the college. The transport facility will give information about the buses present in the college. The medical facilities available in the college will come under medical facility. The details about the hostel will also come under this. The student can send there application form through online. There is no need for the student to come in person to the college. These application forms will be viewed by the administrator.
