Eye Bank Management System

Abstract

The main objective of this application is to automate the complete operations of the Eye Bank. They need maintain hundreds of thousands of records. Also searching should be very faster so they can find required details instantly.The project entitled EYE BANK MANAGEMENT is A PILOT PROJECT FOR NEW Eye bank to be start soon in the city. The management planned this Eye bank to operate on the next month. They have a big plan to collect the Eye tissue from many different sources and distribute the same for the needy. To manage all these they require a full fledged software which will take care all these. Training of Eye bank techniques are Eye donation counselors, Eye bank managers, opththalmo logistics and general medical practitioners in eye banking techniques and Eye bank management. Eye bank Management is a software application to maintain day to day transactions is a Eye bank. This software help to register all the donors, Eye tissue collection detail Eye Tissue issued details etc.

Existing System

The Eye Bank management system exhibited at a lot of ineffectiveness and inefficiency that had far fetched impact on the decisions taken by management. The system, which was manual that is based on paper cards to collect eye donor data, keep records of eye donors and disseminate results to Eye donors, had weakness that needed IT based solutions. The system was characterized by delays and sometimes failure to access historical records, errors were witnessed in entry and manual analysis of results, secrecy and confidentiality of records lacked because unauthorized persons could easily access the records. Therefore, management decisions such as eye distribution to hospitals, mobilization/sensitization of eye donors were not taken basing on real facts. Under such a system, another challenge to management was quick generation of reports pertaining to eye groups for the big number of eye donors in place. Indeed the application of IT-based solution in improving the system was envisaged. Therefore, the existing system was reviewed and an effective/robust eye donor management information system designed to assist management in implementing its strategic plan in order to achieve the over all mission, goals and objectives.

Proposed System

The proposed system is very easy to operate. Speed and accuracy are the main advantages of proposed system. There is no redundancy of data. The data are stored in the computer’s secondary memories like hard disk. It can be easily receive and used at any time. The proposed system will easily handle all the data and the work done by the existing systems. The proposed system eliminates the drawbacks of the existing system to a great extent and it provides tight security to data. Proposed system includes registration of donors, storing their details into the system. Our software has the facility to give a unique id for everyone. It includes a search facility to know the available eye detail. User can search availability of eye.
