TWO WAY TO ONE WAY
Normally spur gears are used to change the speed of transmission and also to change the direction of the transmission. Using sliding gear mechanism, the direction of transmission can be kept unidirection. Whatever direction of the driver shaft may be, the driven shaft will be in same direction. When the driver shaft rotates in one direction, the sliding gear moves to one end and rotates the driven shaft in particular direction. When the direction of the driver shaft is changed, this moves the sliding gear mechanism to move to the other end and this rotates the driven shaft in the same direction.
