    PAPER CUTTER USING GENEVA MECHANISM


    Abstract

    Mostly paper cutting machines are hand operated manual machines. In manual machines, if the papers are not fixed properly, the cutting may be un size. This project is developed for the users for cutting the papers in desired size with accurate dimensions. It consists of Maltese cross with iron disc pair, Gear motor, paper cutter, chain drive mechanism etc. Geneva mechanism is an accurate indexing mechanism that converts the continuous motion into intermittent motion. Due to the intermittent motion, the paper is moved between the time intervals of cutting periods. Then the paper cutting is achieved by a crank and lever mechanism. The cutter will be back to its original position by a restoring spring.
