    GSM Based Transformer Load Sharing

    Abstract

In normal we used to control the industrial equipment’s by manual operation. Hence it is to be updated step by step manually. It is overcome by a new mode of communication which is used to control all those equipment’s through load sharing mechanism by a single message from anywhere. GSM is the most popular mobile phone system in the world which could be used for this controlling operation from anywhere else. Global system for mobile communication is used as a media which is used to control and monitor the transformer load from anywhere by sending a message. It has its own deterministic character. Thereby, here GSM is used to monitor and control the DC motor, stepper motor, temperature sensor and solid state relay by sending a message through GSM modem. Hence no need to waste time by manual operation and transportation. Hence it is considered as highly efficient communication through the mobile which will be useful in industrial controls, automobiles, and appliances which would be controlled from anywhere else. It is also highly economic and less expensive; hence GSM is preferred most for this mode of controlling. The main aim of this project is transformers sharing whenever the load is increased for certain value and also sending these changes information to the respective authority via SMS by using GSM modem. The transformer load sharing will be done by microcontroller with the help of electromagnetic relay. And the load will be monitored on LCD with help of current transformers. The controlling device of the whole project is a microcontroller, GSM modem and LCD displays are interfaced to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will supervise all these devices. In this project a slave transformer in this case of shares load of master transformer and if it is found to be in over load condition immediately the slave transformer will be connected in parallel to the master transformer and load is shared. LM324 operational amplifier is used to compare the load of the transformer with a standard load capacity.
