    PLC Based EB Theft Monitoring

    Abstract

In our day to day life, electricity is very important for all our activities. Also electricity theft happens in some areas. Sometime, electricity theft cannot be identified. So day by day, electricity theft is increased. In this project is developed for the users to monitor the electricity theft in EB line. It consists of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) unit, Voltage and current sensor and LCD Display. The voltage and current sensors monitors the actual power of the power line. If any unauthorized load is added in the system, the sensors sends signal to the PLC. The PLC analyses the signal and finds out if there is any theft of electricity. If there is any theft, it displays the message in the LCD display. This will be very useful in industries, houses, institutions and also in Electricity department. This project uses Visual Basic as designing language and Assembly language as Microcontroller language. PIC16F73 is used as Microcontroller.
