PWM Based Speed Control Of AC Motor Using PIC Controller

    Abstract

This project is developed for the users to control the operation of a DC motor using Microcontroller PIC16F73. It consists of a key pad and microcontroller unit. The key pad consists of keys to increase and decrease the speed and to change the direction of the motor. In a DC motor, there are two terminals called positive and negative. If voltage is given to DC motor, the motor runs in a particular direction and if the polarities are reversed, the motor runs in opposite direction. This project uses a Pulse width modulation technique to control the operation of a DC motor. The main part of this project is microcontroller PIC 16F73. The microcontroller generates different PWM pulses. The user can change the pulses through key pad. According to the pulse generated, the microcontroller sends signal to the driver section. The DC motor is energized through the driver section (FET Z44). The user can control the speed as well as direction of the DC motor. The microcontroller program is written in assembly language.
