    Android Based Solution for Indian Agriculture


    Abstract

    The Agriculture business domain, as a vital part of the overall supply chain, is expected to highly evolve in the upcoming years via the development, which are the taking place on the side of the future application. Smart phone technology creates new opportunities for farm management application in small farms. Farmers working on small farm are now able with a low cost smart phone and the specialized application to obtain facilities couldn’t have on their hands before. The use of this application in a smart phone can overleap the high difficulties of farm management requirements which were stand as obstacle for many years so far. Tasks such as field definition, task operation, lists and report and all farming use data can be submitted and carried on together in a smart phone at any farm working condition. This application suitable for farmers. Many times farmers are confused to take decision regarding selection of fertilizer, pesticide and time to do particular farming action. So to avoid this problem this application is very useful. Fertilizer schedule of each type of crop will get registered. Based on sowing date of crop, farmers will get reminders about fertilizer as per schedule. Weather information on the basis of village registered. Prepare financial budgets and monitor its execution. Keep records for all assets of farm (machines, raw materials, fields). Maintain expenditure record. Generate revenue on the basis of expenditure record and income generated. Information of different government of India Scheme for Indian Farmers. Get access to pesticides, fertilizers and seed databases.


    Existing System

    The existing system the agriculture was performed in manual way. The farmer sells the yield of the crop in the market in manual way. The farmer manually goes to the market in order to analyse the price of the crop before selling the crop. The farmer is unaware of the benedictory schemes for agriculture (such as loans). If the farmer is in need of loan, the farmer needs to go to the bank or the farmer needs to discuss among the colleagues to get a clear knowledge about the loan scheme. In the existing system all these process is done manually.


    Proposed System

    In the proposed system, the admin enters the details of the crop price, weather condition, government schemes for the agriculture in the android app. The farmer registers their details in the app and login into the app. They can view the crop prices before selling the crop. The farmers can view the weather conditions and the schemes related to the agriculture. The farmers can view the details related to the schemes provided by the government. This app helps the farmers to get more financial benefits. This app also considers weather conditions while notifying farmers and leads to sustainable farming. Mobile phones are used very commonly by everyone. The development of mobile applications (Mobile app) has increased the usability of mobiles beyond voice and text communications. Mobile app is a computer program designed to run on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers. Earlier mobile apps were developed mainly for entertainment and communication purposes only. But now trend has been changed and mobile apps are focused on other sectors as well like finance, agriculture and even daily routine activities. Mobile app for agricultural and rural development is one of the emerging fields that focus on the enhancement of agricultural and rural development.
