ROOM TEMPERATURE MONITORING USING 8051 MICROCONTROLLER

    Abstract

While the weather can be to blame for humidity inside the home, there are other indoor factors that can contribute to the problem. For example, common household chores such as cooking, washing dishes, or doing laundry can add to your home’s humidity levels. Other contributors include showering and even breathing. Recently, the use of residential air conditioning has become widespread owing to increasing living standards and expectations for comfort. The control and monitoring of indoor atmospheric conditions represents an important task with the aim of ensuring suitable working and living spaces for people. Monitoring the temperature of a room is a critical task to ensure the performance of the home appliance devices are not disturbed by excessive room temperature. In this project, a microcontroller-based room temperature monitoring system is implemented using 8051 microcontroller and LM35 temperature sensor of National Semiconductor . The system is equipped with a LCD Display to show status of the room temperature in °C and relay board to control electronic fan. The system switch ON cooling fan when the room temperature is above threshold, which is 28°C. The system switch ON the heating fan if the room temperature is below a predefined threshold. Thus the room can be kept at constant temperature and the operations are very accurate.
