SMART SWITCHING SYSTEM USING BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY

    Abstract

When being “SMART” is highly in trend nowadays, why stop only to smartphones or computers? So here the home appliances are made possible to control using a simple smart phone. An Android application is used to control the devices that are used in daily life. The other important devices that are used in this project are Bluetooth module, microcontroller, relay board, and bulb. The hardware and software architecture of the whole system are described in this paper. It has been made sure that this venture can be accomplished under extreme low price so that it can easily be implemented in familiar atmosphere. This system was wirelessly controlled the switches from a distance of approximately 30 m radius. It is possibly used in health centre, nursing home, and home appliances for elderly, and Parkinson’s patients.

    Existing System

ZigBee, GSM, GPRS, infrared, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth based system

    Proposed System

The project has been constructed into two parts – software and hardware parts. The hardware part consists of bluetooth module, microcontroller (AVR328) and relay board. The software part consists of the microcontroller coding. The Bluetooth device is connected by android application which is operated by the microcontroller. Bluetooth module HC-05, AVR microcontroller, and relay board are applied to construct the hardware part of this system. An android application is used by the microcontroller to communicate with the android phone through Bluetooth module.
