    Digital Grama Panchayath Service


    Abstract

    The main objective of this application is to provide better delivery of Citizen Services in the village through computerization of application for the services of the gram panchayath. Gram panchayath is a decentralized institution managing the application and providing the information about services in the gram panchayath. This app provides direct communication between the citizen and the government. The main roles played in the project are the admin (government) and the citizens. The citizen who wishes to file complaint through this app. The citizen login into the app using their username and password. After login into the app they can file their complaint to the government directly about the grievances such as irregular water supply, damaged road, irregular supply of government products (such as TV, grinder etc.,), improper street lighting, etc., they are facing in their location through this app. The complaint details will be viewed by the admin i.e., government. Once the complaint is viewed by the admin, the admin will verify the complaint given by the citizen by sending specific authorities to their area. After the verification process, the admin will take necessary actions over the complaint. The admin will upload the status in the app. It provide an efficient way for the citizens in the village to overcome their grievances in an easier way.


    Existing System

    In Existing Gram panchayath Management all records of people filled by manually. While paper records are a traditional way of managing people data there are several drawbacks to this method. It takes a very long time to convey the information to the people. The citizen needs to go to the village panchayath in a manual way for filling complaint regarding damaged road, irregular water supply, lighting etc., Gram Sabha meetings are perceived as a formality only to maintain the records in panchayath office and for ulterior motives. There is lack of proper cooperation and coordination between the people and the officials like Block Development Officers, the District Officers etc. Villagers are generally unaware or do not have complete information on schemes available. There is very little knowledge in villages about the funds received and the heads under which they are utilized. People also face so many problems in their area. They complain to their respective ward members but they may or may not respond quickly. There are many other problems in the present day panchayath raj system.


    Proposed System

    Digital Gram Panchayath Services Application is android based application which deals with the problem of accessing and providing all activities of gram panchayath and the gram panchayath member can access and maintain their records from the database. The E-Government i.e., the admin will add the details about the government schemes such as free TV, Grinder, mixer grinder etc., in the app. The admin also view the complaint details and takes necessary action over the complaint. After taking action the admin will add the status to the citizen in the app. The citizen can easily file their complaint directly to the government authorities without the needs of third person i.e., intermediate officials. The citizen can file complaint related to damaged road, irregular water and power supply, improper supply of ration products and improper supply of government free schemes such as TV, Grinder, Mixer Grinder etc., in the app. Through this app the citizen can give their feedback comments about the municipal corporation services.
