    CAR RENTAL SYSTEM-Mini


    Abstract

    The car rental system is being developed for customers so that they can book their vehicles from any part of the world. This application takes information from the customers through filling their details. Car Rental System Application is based on a concept to book car and taxi online. A customer being registered in the website has the facility to book a vehicle which he requires. The proposed system is completely integrated online system. It automates manual procedure in an effective and efficient way. This automated system facilities customer and provides to fill up the details according to their requirements. It includes type of vehicle they are trying to hire and location. Here at first the user has to login or sign up to get access. Then the user can list, search for cars according to their needs, check each cars description, booking prices and book easily with help of various payment methods. All the available cars can be rated by the users too. The user can filter search or sort car by price for searching cars. The application also displays reserved cars list. With the help of this application, the online car booking has become easier for the customers. It can be used in several android gadgets such as smartphones, tablets, television. Android is an open source so that developer will find it easy to establish and expand new features. This project is easy to operate and understood by the user.


    Existing System

    In the existing system all the processes are done manually. The individual who needs to lease a vehicle, first contact the vehicle rental organization for the decision of vehicle. Existing system, which is the traditional system, in which client needs to go the Cab office and book manually, which require lots physical and mental efforts. If a customer needs a car for rent, then the customer needs to go to the rental organization in a manual way. The organisation uses a manual system for reserving and renting a car through phone calls placed to the car operators by intending users. Under this manual method, there is little or no record of all the rental activities and customer information. During vehicle reservation, the customers reserve a vehicle by making a phone call to the organization otherwise he or she is expected to go to the organization to make reservation. Such manual system is ineffective due to the following bottleneck and drawback associated with it. During reservation a customer reserves a vehicle via phone call or he or she is expected to go to the organization for reservation.


    Proposed System

    Car rental system was developed using Android and SQLite database. A customer who needs a car for rent can use this application. This app contains admin, car owner and customer. The admin will add the car owners in the app. The admin also add the car details along with the price detail in the app. In order to access the app the customer needs to register their details in the app. After registration the customer needs to fill their requirements such as vehicle type and location. The customer can view the cars available in the app. The customer can also view the car details along with the booking price amount. This app also facilitate the sorting and filtering option, by using this the customer can sort the car list based on price. After selecting the customer can book the needed car for rent and payment can be done through online.
